Uttarkashi Flood Relief Work 2025

Over View

  In August 2025, severe cloudburst and flash floods devastated multiple villages in the Uttarkashi district, especially the Harshil–Dharali region. Hundreds of families were affected, losing homes, livelihood, and access to essential services.

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehradun, immediately initiated a coordinated relief programme with the support of Orbis Financial Corporation Ltd., providing emergency materials, medical care, and ongoing assistance.

Distribution of Relief Kits

  • 120 families in Chenagaad village received essential relief materials.

  • Kits included:

    • Solar lights

    • Pressure cookers

    • Blankets

    • Clothing

    • Dry ration packets

    • Hygiene items

Medical Relief Support

  • A 6-member medical team (doctors, nurses, paramedics, and volunteers) was stationed in Uttarkashi from 6 August 2025.

  • Free health check-ups, medicines, first-aid services, and post-disaster treatment were provided.

  • Ashrama and Orbis jointly ensured safe accommodation, nutritious food, and logistics for the medical team.

Ongoing Support

  • Continued relief activities will be implemented as per need.

  • Additional supplies and rehabilitation assistance are planned for severely affected families and villages.
